Overcome The Fear of Being Judged by Sadhguru

Whichever way you judge me has absolutely no impact on me, because I am completely stoned But I've have not given this privilege to anybody, that somebody can make me happy, somebody can make me unhappy, Any moment, we could be doing something wrong, so we listen to everybody, but what they say will not determine how I am. Superscript: Overcome The Fear of Being Judged Questioner: So Sadhguru, Sometime back, I happened to be in a situation where a friend of mine was drunk. So, when she was in the drunk state, she was repeatedly saying that, Please don't judge me as I'm driving, please don't judge me (Sadhguru laughs). Sadhguru: It is, but she has lost her judgment, but you... she doesn't want you (Laughter/Applause) Questioner: So my question is, whether it is alcohol or not, in life, why are we so apprehensive about being judged by others, and how can we not let this come on our way of being happy (Sadhguru laughs) (Applause)? Sadhguru: Look at me. See, I am always stoned (Laughter). Never touched a substance, but always stoned.

You can judge me whichever way you want (Laughter), because... one thing is, I am stoned in such a way that I have not lost my judgment at all. And at the same time, whichever way you judge me has absolutely no impact on me because I am completely stoned (Laughter/Applause). Having said that, why this consumption of alcohol and drugs is growing the way it's growing in the world is This is because the heavens have been collapsing. Yes. I was in Bangalore just three, four weeks ago, there were over 8,000 people doing a two-day program with me, and just casually I asked, How many of you think you will go to heaven? Only five hands went up.

Then I asked, Are you all the hell people? No, it's just that both heaven and hell have collapsed in people's minds. this is the first time in the history of humanity, that this many people in the world can think for themselves. Otherwise, your priest, your mullah, your pundit, or a book was thinking for you. The first time that so many people can think for themselves. Are they thinking right, thinking wrong there are many issues about that? But they are thinking right, thinking wrong, but they are thinking.

So all illogical things are naturally collapsing. Still, this generation has not fully walked away from it, still, there is fear, they can't openly say, There's no goddamn hell or heaven. They are still fearful about it, but they are trying to make a little heaven for themselves here. So (Talks to the audience: Hey, wait, wait, wait) So naturally, when they are not able to do it for themselves, out of their own intelligence, they will fall back on chemicals. Today, just to take very affluent societies, because every society is aspiring to be like that, let's say, you take the United States which is the most affluent nation on the planet, right now. seventy per cent of the US population is on prescription medication, another thirty per cent, of course, buying it off the back streets (Laughter/Applause). Most affluent nation. Obviously, affluence is not working to be healthful, you need chemicals, to be joyful, you need chemicals, to be peaceful, you need chemicals, to be ecstatic, of course (Laughter) there is ecstasy.

So, I am not even looking at it morally, it's it never a moral issue for me. If ninety per cent of this population right now is on chemicals, believe me, the next generation that we produce will be a generation that is much less than us. If we produce the next generation less than ourselves, we have committed a crime against humanity, because the next generation must be at least one step ahead of us, otherwise, we've lost it.

We've lost the entire process of civilization when we produce a next-generation which is actually less than us. So we are heading towards this, rapidly, unless we teach individual human beings how to simply sit here and be blissed out. Stoned enough or no, just look at me? But am I conscious enough, alert enough, clear enough? If there was a way to intoxicate yourself without losing your judgment, without losing your awareness, without losing your intelligence, it's a great thing.

Intoxication is a fantastic thing, the only problem is, it takes away your judgment, it takes away your intelligence, incapacitates you. That is the problem, isn't it? Is it true, ask anybody you are not in the medical sciences, but ask anybody is it true that this body here is the greatest chemical factory in the universe right now, the universe that we know, at least? Hmm? The only problem is, you are a lousy manager. If you know how to manage this (Referring to oneself), you would be like me, always missed out. Anybody can say what they want, anybody can do what they want, this like this only.

Because I have not given this privilege to anybody, that somebody can make me happy, somebody can make me unhappy, somebody can make me miserable. Right now, you are a consequence of other people's opinions, where do you plan to go like this? Anybody can ruin you. You went outside, somebody told you, Shreya, you are the most wonderful human being we have seen. Then you were all floating on that cloud (Laughter) what number? What number? Nine? Nine? Oh, in the South, we do eleven (Laugher).

You were floating on cloud whatever number, and you came home, people at home told you who you really are, (Laughter) and the cloud will crash. No, no, it's very important that neither this way or that way We listen to everybody because we could be doing something wrong. Hello? Any moment, we could be doing something wrong, so we listen to everybody, but what they say will not determine how I am. Never, ever. This you must fix, and you must tell your friend when she's not drunk (Laughter), because otherwise, she won't understand.

Rewrite Your MIND, 40 Million Bits/Second by Dr. Bruce Lipton "It Takes 15 Minutes"

These programs can change a belief you had your entire life in maybe 15 20 minutes Many of them create a state of super learning like you were when you were an infant Yet there is a better and faster way even Their mind has two parts the Subconscious mind is the original brain and it can process 40 million bits of data from the environment every second the mind is very powerful and very fast, but it's totally Habitual, it's not creative. It can only playback what it learns in Evolution the front part of the brain the prefrontal cortex gives rise to consciousness It's a small piece of the brain that is consciousness Self or consciousness is an add-on option and most people don't exercise the option But note it has it can process only about 40 bits of data per second The subconscious mind is 1 million times more powerful Well, the subconscious mind is fast.

The conscious mind is slow at processing That's why when you're an emergency or stress you operate from this one because it can operate fast and handle lots of data, but the difference between the two is this is habitual It is the conscious mind that is creative and can generate free Will the conscious mind can control anything in your entire body? They used to say there were parts of our body that were involuntary control But now we know that that's not true look, for example, Yogi's can regulate their heartbeat their blood pressure or body temperature with a conscious mind? So, while the conscious mind can only handle a few things The subconscious mind can do many many thousands of tasks at the same time now recently Neuroscientists are talking about how your unconscious really shapes your life your decisions What do they say according to cognitive? Neuroscientists we are conscious of only about 5% of our cognitive activity most people one per cent of their day is in the conscious mind.

So every day You, you create only From your creation mind your conscious mind only about 1% of what is going on in your life and therefore 95 to 99 per cent of your life comes from your programming in your subconscious mind, so What this means is maybe you were the child in the store and your parents said you do not deserve 95 per cent of the day you will sabotage your life to make sure you do not deserve and the reason why is the subconscious job is to create? Reality out of the program. And so therefore, if you have negative programming 95% of the day you will create that negative experience in your life now Here's the problem the conscious mind and the subconscious mind work together So whatever the conscious mind focuses on it could control but what it's not focusing on the subconscious mind control So most of our day we are thinking about the future or thinking about the past.

That's what the conscious mind So if the conscious Minds not paying attention to right now Then everything you're doing during the day is being run by the program that you got But the problem is because your mind is not the conscious Minds not paying attention Then it does not see the program being played by the subconscious mind So most of every day you are not playing programs They you personally want you're playing programs that you've got from other people But you didn't see those pillows programs. So when your life doesn't work You say that the universe does not support me and yet the truth was it was own? Invisible behaviour that sabotages you so what's important is some people say well Maybe I just do some positive thinking that mind does the positive thinking conscious or subconscious the conscious mind which works at five per cent a day with a 40-bit processor and When you're doing your consciousness, are you paying attention to what's going on? Who's running the show the experiential programs from the subconscious mind and that is 95 per cent of the day with 40 million bit processor does positive thinking work do the math? and the issue is that it's very difficult to take a small processor and Overpower the large processor and you have to use what is called willpower With the emphasis on power to override now here is the second catch or the second problem the Subconscious mind is like a recorder tape player It records an experience and then when you push the button it plays the experience back so then we take our Conscious mind and we want to talk to the subconscious mind and change the program now think about it this way you have a tape player and I give you a cassette with a program You put the tape in and you push play and the program is going you say I don't like the program Then you go up to the tape play and you say change the program and change the program The issue is the tape will not Change by doing that but there are ways to change the program if you know how to push the record button So your life does not reflect what you want.

It reflects the program you were given. So one way out is Consciousness just be conscious and then you don't play the tape a second way out Clinical hypnotherapy because that puts you back in the same brain state that you were in in the learning period and then you can put a new program and rewrite the tape Yet there is a better and faster way, even there's a group of new psychology modalities called energy psychology There are many different versions for example holographic Repat earning bodytalk EMDR Eft the one I am most familiar with this psych-k psy c h k These programs are like pushing the record button on the tape player These programs can change a belief you had your entire life in maybe 15 20 minutes Many of them like psy k create a state of super learning Like you were when you were an infant But I'm now going to show you how your thoughts go out and affect your life on the outside EEG you put wires on your skin and read the brain activity Ma ji the the probe does not even touch the head You can read your brain activity outside of your head.

It's not magic When a nerve carries a signal it's like an electric wire It has an electrical component. And so the electric component can be picked up by electrodes on the skin But when a wire is carrying a current it also has a magnetic field around it The magnetic field passes through the skin your thoughts are not contained in your head the people that you get connected to you are entangled with and Many people are familiar If you think about someone you are talking about someone you haven't seen for years and I say oh I haven't seen my friend John in ten years and the phone rings and it's John It's like the placebo Nocebo when you think very positive thoughts of someone they make an effort to get in touch with you But it works both ways if you have a negative thought about somebody Wherever they are, they will create negative.

Talk about you So it's very important to recognize your thoughts and your judgments are not just connected to you They're connected to the people you talk about you are exciting and activating those things in the world that are connected to your thoughts when a mugger is trying to pick out which Person he is going to attack the different people walking down the street Which one do you think has attacked? The one who is most afraid because the one who most afraid will resonate and that means that the mugger doesn't have to do anything go boom and Everyone will give him everything You

Waking Up at 4:00 AM Every Day Will Change Your Life

why is it so important to get up early semi-auto wounded that's why you ain't got it I don't sleep when I'm tired I'll sleep when I'm done the average millionaire wakes up at a.m. so it started off 4 o'clock in the morning while I'd start let some of my cardio then I'd have breakfast and then I would go to the gym and then I go to work some of y'all have no idea what 4 a.m. looks like why would you not wake up at because you're too busy sleeping in I'm pretty sure I wake up earlier than all of you you don't sleep when we're tired with sleep when we are too busy hitting the snooze button multiple times excuses sound best to the person that's making them up and if we can really be honest some of y'all don't even go to bed until about 4 a.m. if you can get up before the rest of the world is awake right before the enemy's awake you get so much done you're so much more productive stop feeling sorry for yourself wake your ass up and then they ask me well why are you up so early take responsibility to make your life happy awaken the feast itself wake up at 4 a.m.

So I began to tell myself there must be a reason when you'll have something to do and you have someone to love when you have something to look forward to you get up in the water see people who have something to look forward to don't need an alarm clock because they have a reason for being you if you want to have one of the best lifes in the world which is who them on your terms you have them pay your dues to get there you've decided that you're not going to allow your circumstances to define you've decided that you're not going to allow the offense things people might determine who you become you got a problem with your life follow a chain final to do something about it if you want more freedom in your life you have to have more that's good if you do what is easy your life will be hard but if you do what is hard your life will be easy you decided that you're not going to go through life being a whiner being a complainer that you're going to take responsibility for what it is that you want to create the greatest ability that God has given humankind above the animals is the ability to choose on a normal day when you are very productive think about how much you can actually get accomplished in three hours if you seriously put your mind to it you can study several chapters for that upcoming exam you can read an entire book of about a hundred and fifty pages you can get a full workout shower and take your time getting dressed in three hours you can type several chapters of your book in three hours what I'm saying is you can get three hours closer to greatness in three hours those an article that was posted this insider that said that three hours seems to be the sweet spot to be in significantly successful so here's the question what are you missing out on by sleeping in everything what are you giving up by sleeping in everything what are you gaining by sleeping in nothing what are you accomplishing by sleeping in nothing I know what you're thinking I know what you're saying to yourself you're probably wondering well who wakes up early well Tim Cook the CEO of Apple wakes up early Bob Iger the CEO of Disney wakes up early Andrea Jung the CEO of Avon wakes up early Howard Schultz the CEO of Starbucks wakes up early the way the rock Johnson wakes up early what about you what time do you wake up you're missing out on precious moments and opportunities to get things done you've heard the excuse I don't have enough time in the day or you might have heard people say I wish I had more time my question is what are you doing with the time you have better yet if you claim that you don't have enough time what are you doing to create time what areas are you willing to sacrifice to produce more time the truth is you have the time however you may not be using it wisely well guess what Elon Musk has 24 hours beyonce has 24 hours LeBron James has 24 hours Warren Buffett has 24 hours Bill Gates has 24 hours Jeff Bezos has 24 hours Mark Zuckerberg has 24 hours you also have 24 hours everyone has 24 hours per day but some seem to be more successful than others you know why because they value time and know how important time is and if they feel that they don't have enough time then online sacrificing other things to create more time so if that means you have to wake up at 4 a.m.

To gain 3 more hours in your day then that is what you will have to do there is no ifs ands or buts about it that is if you want to be successful if not keep sleeping in until 10 a.m. or later five years down the line you're going to find yourself in the same position you're in now if not you'll have to listen to anything else I'm saying to you but I just figured that I was talking to someone that wants to succeed at our cuff someone that wants to pass their exams someone that wants to make it to the level you didn't even know existed I want you to try it out for one day just one day wake up at 4 a.m. see how much you can possibly accomplish in those 3 or 4 hours after that wake up the second day at 4 a.m.

do the same thing after that do it for a week after that do it for 21 days until it becomes a heaven challenge yourself that is the only way you're going to do better do you want to be a millionaire a billionaire a success story a CEO a boss and a straight-a student do yourself a favor and gain a few hours each day by waking up at 4 a.m. your future successful straight a billionaire self will thank you.

Who is the Real You By With Jay Shetty

You had a survey on Instagram that I found fascinating. and it asked your audience: Do People Know the Real You? and half answered "Yes". How sad is that to you that only half answered yes? Do you know what? The truth is I'm not surprised. I feel like we've lived in a world that's constantly trying to get us to fit in. Like we were always taught to fit in, stand in line. And when you grow up, everything is like, "Oh, how do you stand out?" Like it makes no sense right? Like I remember going to school and everyone was just like "Stand in line!" Right? "Fit in!" "Wear the same uniform" And then when you grow up it's like "Personal Branding, stand out...

...be yourself" and it's like okay. So, I'm not surprised that people don't know the real them because I think people are scared of being themselves because that may turn people off. Everything comes with connotations. We've been taught to be a certain way of what's normal and acceptable. All of those things. I remember the first time I wore robes on a street. It was like so scary, I was like "What if somebody who knows me sees me?... ...I'm going to feel weird." And then you think about it and it's like "Why?" Why do we think that? Because all these conditionings have been placed. So, for me...

...I'm not surprised by that is my first point. I don't feel surprised by it. And to those who answered "No", what's your advice to them? To allow people to see the real you, to be more authentic? I think the first thing is you've gotta get comfortable being you. See, no one will ever be comfortable with you being you if you're not comfortable being you. And I think we first try and prove ourselves to other people. So my favourite, this is like, I talk about this all the time, it's probably one of my favourite pieces of insight. It's from a writer named Cooley in the 1900s. And he said: Today I'm not what I think I am I'm not what you think I am I am what I think you think I am So what he means by that is We are living in the perception of ourselves. If I think, you guys think that I'm nice then I feel nice. If I think that you think I'm weird I feel weird.

So we're constantly living through the perception of a perception of someone else. So my first thing is to get away from that. Take that away, figure out how you feel about yourself. So I will say happiness is how you feel about yourself when you're by yourself. Right? Like how do you feel about yourself when you're by yourself when no one else is around. And start there. When you mention that of these perceptions the first thing I was thinking is how exhausting to...to want to know what you're thinking, then what you're thinking of me and then now I'm going to... - (laughs) That just sounds like an exhaustive day. And we've been friends for twelve years, these thoughts never cross our mind. It doesn't happen around friends. -Yes, When we're around the people that we have a relationship with already we're not constantly second-guessing ourselves and feeling inauthentic.

But when we're around strangers, and we're trying to impress them, instantly all of that self-doubt creeps in and all of a sudden we put up this facade. So one of the easiest ways for me to fake it until I make it as I'm working through this process of trying to get more comfortable as an introvert, meeting more people and having to put myself out there is treated people like they're already your friend. Right? Assume that they already like you. Start there that we're already friends, and then you don't have this inauthenticity that you're struggling with. I really like that, that's a great tip. I love that. Yeah, and I think the other one is like just get comfortable being you and figuring out what that means. Like if you just observe when do you feel uncomfortable. So I found this, when I go to an event that I'm not speaking at that is not about what I do, but I'm attending, I've observed that I prefer to find a one to one conversation in a corner and going really deep with someone, rather than trying to mill around the popular circles and trying to have and direct a conversation. It doesn't work for me.

So now I can be myself by going: It's okay if I don't network at this event. If no one knows that I'm here it's fine. I'm going to go off and have a meaningful conversation with one or two people. When you know that, you just take the pressure off yourself. And then you can be... So it's just observing when you feel at your best. and then figure out how to do that at each place. And that's going to take testing and time.

You're going to go to a party. You're going to do something that's not you. And then you're going to go "Okay, I'm not going to do that again." And we've all been in that position. But you gotta do it once. You gotta do it once. You have to do it once. Yeah, exactly!

Jay Shetty's Advice for Young People on how to succeed in life

My parents had a maths tutor for me because they wanted me to be amazing at math I was pretty good at numbers and I'd have this tutor and he'd tell me that, he goes. The reason that you're struggling with the next question is that you're always worried about what your parents think. And, and that really stayed in my head. I was just like wow, so as long as I'm trapped by what my parents think I can actually never find the answers to the real questions of life. Most of us just throw ourselves into the deep end and then try swimming and figuring it out The problem is we all went to normal schools that try to put stuff in us rather than takes stuff out of us.

You know, you were told at school that you weren't very good and you weren't good at English and now you have a New York Times Bestseller, right? And it's like, no one noticed that potential inside you. No one noticed that "Oh, Lewis was really creative" and you're not the only person, there're so many people who feel like that. So the modern schooling system didn't extrapolate your Self-actualization, your element and just try to put maths, English, science inside. So the point is that you're trying to get to such a strong foundation that when you interact in the world you're going with a sense of strength, fuel, energy to make a difference rather than going into the world and then going "Oh my god, where am I?" trying to figure it out. People were so far removed from their own understanding of themselves that they were either lost living a life they didn't want to, Lost living up to someone else's expectations or lost becoming someone to impress someone else. How many of you have a crazy dream or a crazy goal? I want you to write out in the comment section What is your crazy dream? The dream that keeps you up at night is the real dream you should be chasing but to chase that dream, to find that dream, to make that dream a reality you need a strategy, right? A dream without a plan is just a wish, Tony Robbins said that Right! "A dream without a plan is just a wish" You can't be what you can't see.

If I never saw a monk, I would have never wanted to be a monk if I never meet a billionaire, I wouldn't want to be one because I wouldn't know what that feels like I don't know what it looks like, I don't know what it takes. What am I good at? What do I love? What does the world need? and how do I get paid for it? To me those four help you unlock your passion. I often say to people, "Your passion is for you, your purpose is for others." Your passion makes you happy but when you use your passion to make a difference in someone else's life that's a service, that's a purpose. My goal has never been financially or materially oriented I see that stuff as the byproduct of doing what you love I genuinely, genuinely believe that it's always been that way around for me. My focus is to create entertainment that truly has educational value but without us always knowing it.

I think we all learn best when we don't know that we're learning if we're all pushed into a classroom and told we have a class we're all not listening Start at a place where you have self-awareness, self-actualization. You have figured out what works for you, what your strengths are So I think it starts even at a physical level Anyone who's a physical fitness or health coach will know that different bodies need different food, different sleep, different fluids we don't all need the same thing.

Me and you with different body types can't do the same workout. Our bodies have different tolerances in different things that's self-awareness at the physical level. We know our limits, we know what we can do, we know what we can't do, we know what a challenge is. On a mental level, what's self-awareness? Knowing what type of people I like to be with knowing who helps me grow and who drains me. That's mental self-awareness. I believe that the answers come from within and we're not asking the right questions. I feel we're always looking for the right answers not the right question. And the biggest companies that we respect today the biggest organizations, all came from trying to answer a question. It all came from trying to solve a problem or a question that we were able to identify. So my work comes from a very simple study that I read that said, "The most successful people in the world choose education over entertainment and the most unsuccessful people in the world choose entertainment over education." I Know people who graduated at 21 and didn't get a job till they were 27 I know people who graduated late at 25 and they found work immediately.

I know people who never went to university but found what they loved at 18. I know people that have found a job straight out of college. making decent money, but hate what they do. I know people who took gap years and found their purpose. I know people who were so sure about what they were going to do at 16 and change their mind at 26. I know people who have children but are single. and I know people who are married but have had to wait 8 to 10 years to have children.

I know people in relationships who love someone else. I know people who love each other but aren't together. So my point is everything in life happens according to our time, our clock. You may look at some of your friends and think that they're ahead of you maybe some of them you feel are behind. But everything happens at their own pace. They have their own time and clock and so do you be patient. At age 25, Mark Cuban was a bartender in Dallas It took till 32 for J.K. Rowling to be published for Harry Potter after being rejected by 12 publishers. Ortega launched Zara when he was 39. Jack Ma started Alibaba when he was 35 Morgan Freeman got his big break at 52 Steve Carell only got his break after 40 years old.

Virgin was started by Richard Branson at 34. Getting your degree after 25 is still an achievement not being married at 30 but still happy is beautiful. Starting a family after 35 is still possible. And buying a house after 40 is still great Don't let anyone rush you with their time-lines because as Einstein said "Not everything that counts can be counted and not everything that's counted truly counts." and this is the most important thing. I want you to be able to create meaningful, purposeful, fulfilling lives for yourselves and learn how to use that to make an impact and a difference in the lives of others. That will be true success. Priority is on the root of things not the leaf of the symptoms.

You're not dealing with your challenges at symptomatic level you're dealing with it at root level. Right! people say, "I'll just rest, I'll just take a stress pill" "If you're stressed out just go to get a massage." "If you're stressed out just relax watch Netflix and chill" but all that's doing is pacifying you escape for that hour, two hours, maybe a week But going to the root of it and learning how to change your breath then you can manage any situation in life. Always go to the root. It will take longer, but it will last longer. Always go to the root, cut down the root of that weed in your heart. Cut down the root of that weed in your mind. Don't just let it grow and kind of water it a little bit and snip snip cut it a little bit just really go to the root, just knock it out. Get rid of it, get a big axe and cut it down. The biggest weeds that we all get is in our intention So when I say intention I mean my current intention is to use everything I've been given everything that I have in the service of others.

But every day that intention which is a beautiful little plant that's growing gets weeds around it. No, do it for the money just do it for the fame, do it for the followers do it for this all these weeds are like growing around my real intention every day. Every day that's a weed a weed is the intention that you don't want and the problem is sometimes you've let it grow so much the weed looks like the plant and you start believing it's the same thing. I've always had friends who are older than me, and I can see a lot of them in the most successful careers successful jobs beautiful partners whatever it was.

But I saw a sense of lack of fulfillment meaning and purpose in that lives. And I've always been an observer and I would see these people are like 5 years old than me 7 years older than me, maybe 10 years older than me. And I'd be watching them and go "Is that the life I want?" and often the advice I give to people today is Fast-forward where you are look at yourself in 10, 15, 20 years time and ask yourself the question Is that where I want to be? I think it's Thomas Edison who says "When you feel you've exhausted every option remember you haven't." And Einstein said, "if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will spend its whole life believing that it's stupid." and too many of us are fish trying to climb a tree. Too many of us are monkeys being taught how to swim.

My advice to the young people 25 years old Make enough mistakes Don't worry You fall You stand up You fall, You stand up Enjoy it, I mean, if you have 25 years old enjoy the show, just enjoy the show From 30 to 40 years old You have to think very clearly Were you working for yourself? if you really want to be entrepreneur So 40 to 50 think about how can focus on things that you are good at But when you have 50 to 60 years old work for the young people because young people can do it better than you So rely on them, invest on them making sure they're good So 25 years old Don't worry Any mistake is an income Is a wonderful revenue for you In the future it's not about the competition of knowledge It's the competition of creativity It's a competition of imagination It's a competition of learning It's a competition of independent thinking If you think like a machine the problem will come In the past 20 years will make people like a machine In the next 20 years machine will look like a people So in the future it's not knowledge driven It's the wisdom driven It's the experience driven In the past is the knowledge driven and it's the manufacturing driven And in the future is the creativity driven I think next 30 years the world is going to change a lot The new technology is going to change every aspect of the world So this is what we think The world should be focusing on not only the IQ, EQ but also focus on LQ the Quotient of Love Because only when you cared the others only when you care the others that succeed and more successful than you are You have the chance 10 years ago internet was so good when nobody believed internet was so good Now internet is so tough because all the smart people go to Internet So you should go to the off ground I fail for...

Funny things that I fail, a key primary school tests for two times and I fail like three times for the middle school, to go middle schools No I tried... There is an examination that young people If you want to go University you have to take the examinations So I fail the three times When I graduated from universities, and before I... for three years I tried and I failed in the universities. So I applied jobs for 30 times, got rejected. I went for police They say: "No, you're not good" I went, even the KFC, when KFC came to China, come to our city 24 people went for the job 23 people were accepted I was the only guy And we went for police, 5 people, 4 of them accepted. I was the only guy they're not receiving.

So to me, being turned down, rejected. Oh, by the way, I told you that I applied for Harvard for 10 times, rejected. I learned so much about the Hollywood movies especially Forrest Gump -You love Forrest Gump -I love Forrest Gump -Why do you like him? Simple Never give up People think's he's a dumb but he knows what he's doing And I was very depressed the day... a year 2002 or 2003 in the United States I was very depressed when I could not define out a way for the internet and then I watch the movie in my friend's home Forrest Gump when I see him I think This a guy we should learn from Believe what you're doing Love it Whether people like it or don't like it, be simple and like the word: "Life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you can get", right? I never know I would be here talking to you I never know But today I made it I told to my people in my apartment 18, 15 years ago Guys we have to work hard Not for ourselves If we can be successful 80% of the young people in China can be successful We don't have a rich father A powerful uncle We don't have one dollar from bank A someone from government Just work as a team I worry about it today young people A lot of young people lose hope Lose vision And start a complaint We also have the same problem when I got...

It's not a good feeling being rejected by so many people We also depressed but at least later we find that the world has a lot of opportunity How you see the world? How you catch the opportunity? So... Hollywood give me a lot of inspiration I at the beginning I never thought... I thought when I was young I said: "Everything is possible" Now I know not everything is possible We have something you have to think about You have to consider about the others You have to consider about the customer Society, Your employees The Shareholders There are so many things that I think If you continue to work hard There's possibility It's not a mission If you don't do it Nothing is possible If you try to do it at least you have the hope Calm down There's always a way out And keep yourself balanced And meanwhile don't try to keep because business is a...

Competition is a fun Business is like a battlefield You die or I win Business... even if you die there will be another winner, right? So it's better fun Yeah, tell them the story and tell them that if Jack... I don't think in this world there's a lot of people be rejecting more than 30 times If we... you know, the only thing we never give up the only thing in we are like Forrest Gump We keep on fight We keep on change ourselves We don't complain Whether you are successful or not successful I find that one people when they finish the job If they make a mistake and they fail If they always complained the others This guy will never come back If the guy only check himself Yeah, is something wrong with me here Something wrong me there This guy has a hope So many people I talked to at that time for Alipay, they said "This is the stupidest idea you have ever got" but I say: "I don't care if is a stupid clue as long as people use it" Now we have 800 million people using this Alipay 1999 year 2000 and even at the Yahoo time a lot of people say: "This Jack is crazy, he's doing something that we don't understand" a lot of venture capitals give you money because there is such a American model already there but they say: "Alibaba? We don't see this kind of model", right? -They said: "Jack's crazy" -Yeah, this is crazy guy I mean, I remember my first time in Time magazine They call me "Crazy Jack" And I think crazy is good we are crazy but we're not stupid We know what we are doing But if everybody agreed with me If everybody believed that our idea is good We have no chance So that's...

The money we raised we're very thankful So, when our investors makes a lot of money I feel proud and honored Everybody's made it a unique and different So, you must have a unique and different way A lot of people today have a lot of complaints Say: "I don't have opportunity" I complain a lot when I was young and suddenly realized complaint is not solve any problem The opportunity is always in the place where people complain There are so many opportunities in the world In this world Because there are so many complaints If you can solve the complaint, one of the complaints That's the opportunity So this is what we made I think young people My advice to be an entrepreneur Don't be scared of failure Of setbacks And don't give up When we start the business we had 18 founders including me 17 of them Now most of them are my students and most of them...

Well, today people think: "These 18 people are the smarter people in China" We don't think we were smart Honestly, we all graduate from the very poor schools The only thing we did We're very united We all believe the future We are all optimistic And we learn through mistakes We never give up If you graduate from famous Universitys Please Respect the people who graduate from the poor schools Those people like us graduate from a poor universities Please respect yourself We have chance We came today to down We made so many mistakes People say: "You are lucky" Yes, we are very lucky We in only 19 years reach today's size But we gone through so many tough situations We made so many mistakes that people cannot even imagine in probably 19 years You have to gone through so many tough experience And that will make you different.
